I'm Nikolai Lockertsen (Nikko) and this is a selection of my various artworks and tutorials.
I work as a freelance Concept Artist, illustrator and Animator, and have worked in the Movie & TV industry more than 25 years. I have a fun career, having worked on such movies as “Troll Hunter”, Oscar-nominated “Kon Tiki”, “Max Manus”, “Sonic 1 & 2”, "Troll" and more!
I travel around the world and hold Demos and Workshops. The iPad Pro with the Procreate & Procreate Dreams apps are my main tools and always travels with me!
I also teach how to draw, paint and animateon the iPad.

My Procreate Dreams animation for Apple Keynote
I cannot beleive I got to be in a Apple Keynote with my friend and CEO of Procreate, James Cuda 🤩 So friggin cool!!! I made this artwork and animation in Procreate + Procreate Dreams for the event. So much fun! Close to 200 tracks in 4K with lensblur!! All realtime playback haha, just ridiculous Power😅 procre.at/letloose

Here is another Procreate Dreams animation I did. Painted all alements in Procreate. Lots of 12K stuff :-) I wanted to do one camera move from space down to the ground on a planet. It was fun to figure out how to do that in 2D. #procreatedreams #procreate

Here is another Procreate Dreams animation I had so much fun doing :-D You must have sound on! A combo of Keyframing, Frame by frame and preform. All the stuff moving in the wind is preformed. Cat and woman is frame by frame. Train is 2 keyframes ...haha #procreatedreams #procreate

This Procreate demo was alot of fun 🤣. Playgrounds was amazing. So many awesome folks ❤️❤️❤️ And I do love Harry Potter. Just had a "what-if" idea that Hagryd hit him with the pig-spell insted of Dudley.

I've tried and I still don't understand how to use layer. It's hard for me 😭
@@losenawikim8267 imagine layers as papers stacked on top of eachother, but perfectly transparent. You can have different parts of a full illustration on different layers. Like the background and a character is smart to have on seperate layers. That way you can adjust/transform just the character or cackground.

Hello Nikolai, i can imagine it must get boring hearing just how mind blowing your skills are, but they really are! I was wondering what ipad you were using, which model, specs and storage and did you max out the layers capabilities on procreate for this project? Also in your expert and experienced opinion, what ipad model right now would be capable of handling a feature length (1hr 30mins - 2hrs) 2d animation in this style?
Thank you very much. It could not get bored of getting compliments! Allways nice to know people like my stuff! I did this on a M1 13 inch with 1tb storage. Now I got the same, just M4. I would reccomend now to atleast get the M1 or better, and if you get 1 tb or more you get twice the ram (16gb) But the newest iPad air 13 inch also got the M2 processor. So that is also a very good choice. So atleast one of the M1,M2 or M4 will work for years to come. But any iPad what can install latest iOS will work with Procreate Dreams, and the length if your animation will also be now problem as long as the storage is big enough. I would atleast get the 256gb or more.

This is beautiful work! The way you used perspective to capture the feeling of looking up at these aliens is amazing! The composition and color is perfect! The contrast between the perfect machines and the imperfections of the city buildings is brilliant!
